participation of women in online poker, generally regarded as
men’s territory, has considerably increased. Many women today

Online poker has provided new opportunities to women
poker players. Furthermore, online poker has greatly helped
changing the mentality since women have had a chance to prove
to be great poker players and breaking all taboos and
barriers. Some players claim that poker attracts women because
it is a game of pure instinct. Women trust to their instincts and
they like it, they say.
Others have observed that women
have a distinct advantage in this kind of games just because
it's a man's world. Men either want to be overly courteous
or they tend to underestimate
their female opponents.
This argument would not really apply to
online poker, because online games help all players to hide
their gender and identity.
